From May 21st to 25th, 2018, on the basis of CARICC, a training seminar on combating cybercrime for employees of a number of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held.
The event was organized by the OSCE Office of Programs in Astana together with the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau (INL) of the US Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan and CARICC.
The seminar was attended by 18 employees of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Forensic Science Center of the Ministry of Justice, the Civil Service and Anti-Corruption Agency, and the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance.
Participants of the seminar presented knowledge in the field of unauthorized access to computers and computer networks, including tools and techniques for collecting and analyzing data from RAM, Microsoft Windows registers, log files and events, and information from network packets.

May 23, 2018 CARICC Deputy Director Lieutenant-General A.Sh.Shayakhmetov with representatives of international and regional organizations accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the event organized in the framework of the Open Door Day at the Central Reference Laboratory in Almaty.
The event was of an introductory nature, during which a visit was made to a new building of a diagnostic laboratory on the basis of the Kazakh Scientific Center for Quarantine and Zoonotic Infections of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ministry of Health. The construction of the laboratory was financed by the US Government within the framework of the interstate Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States.
The main mission of the Central Reference Laboratory, which has no analogues in the countries of Central Asia, is the strengthening of diagnostic and research capabilities for the development and implementation of Government policy in the epidemiological monitoring system.

In the period from 15th to 18th of May 2018, CARICC experts participated in a training course on countering the sale of drugs through the Internet, organized by the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau (INL) of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan together with the OSCE Office in Astana with the participation of Academy of law enforcement bodies under the Republic of Kazakhstan General Prosecutor's Office.
The purpose of the training is to train national trainers in the field of counteracting the sale of drugs through the Internet.
Participants of the seminar got knowledge on the use of the Internet and modern communication technologies for drug trafficking, the structure of the Deep Web / Dark Web Internet, and the exchange of information through social messengers.

On 21st of May 2018 in CARICC held a working meeting of the CARICC Director Pustovitov G.B. with the representative of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau (INL) of the US State Department, Mrs. Erin Sawyer.
This event was also attended by the head of UNODC Program Office in Almaty, Reginald Pitts, and acting attache of the Office of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) of the United States in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mikhail Karpenkopf.
During the meeting, the Director of CARICC informed the representative of the donor state about the main activities of the Center, the results of the organization's work in 2018, the development prospects and the problematic issues of the CARICC. The parties also discussed prospects for further cooperation.

On May 17, 2018 in CARICC was held a working meeting of the Center's leadership with the representatives of the International Narcotics and Rule of Law Department (INL) of the US State Department and the US Embassy in the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Almaty office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Almaty Office of US Drug Enforcement Agency.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation in the areas of CARICC activities in the field of combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.

On 5th of May 2018 in Astana in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a solemn event dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Defender of the Fatherland and Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
On behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, N.Nazarbayev. Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel-General K.N. Kasymov awarded state awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan a number of people.
The I-st degree Order "Dank" was awarded to the Deputy Director of the CARICC Lieutenant-General A.Sh.Shayakhmetov

On May 01, CARICC hosted a meeting of the Center’s leadership headed by Director G.B. Pustovitov, with the representatives of the Special Prosecutor’s Drug Enforcement Office of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the UK National Crime Agency, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
During the event, the parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation in the field of information exchange and coordination of international operations, as well as the topic of expanding approaches in the field of counteracting drug trafficking.
The representatives of Afghanistan stressed the importance of the future accession of the country to the Agreement on the Establishment of CARICC as a ticket to successful counteraction to the spread of drugs in the Central Asian region, and noted that currently the relevant documents are being negotiated.
At the end of the meeting, the representatives of Afghanistan noted that CARICC is an important partner in the fight against drugs in Central Asia and expressed willingness for further fruitful cooperation.

In the period from April 23 to April 28, a working visit of the Director of CARICC Colonel of the Police G.B. Pustovitov was made in the city of Toledo (Spain), within the framework of which a number of high-level international events were held, including: The first global anti-drug conference of the INTERPOL member states, as well as bilateral meetings on the margins of this conference.
The above-mentioned conference was organized by the General Secretariat of ICPO INTERPOL jointly with the National Police of Spain, during which took part delegations of ICPO INTERPOL member states and representatives of international organizations.
In the framework of bilateral meetings, the delegation of CARICC held talks with representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Kyrgyz Republic, the State of Qatar, the Russian Federation, Spain, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As a result of the working visit, CARICC representatives reached an agreement on deepening the practical cooperation of the Center with the national coordinating authorities and competent authorities of the CARICC member states, observer states and other countries and organizations on a wide range of issues of interaction.
