Training in detecting forged documents

From July 29 to August 2, 2019 at the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Traffic of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors, instructors from the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior conducted second stage of training course in the format of train-the-trainer on detecting forged travel documents for officers of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This event is part of the long-term cooperation of CARICC with the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan and the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Programme of the U.S. Embassy and the Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan.
During the event, experts and participants jointly developed recommendations on introduction of a warning system for border guards on cases of forged travel documents discovery.
The third and final phase of the workshop is expected to be held in November this year.
