A workshop for investigators on cross-border crimes such as smuggling of drugs and their precursors was organized on 16-18 October 2023 at CARICC in Almaty.

The event was organized jointly with the EU Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10). A team of experts from the Customs Criminal Service and Precursor Control and Risk Assessment Division of the Drug, Tobacco and Alcohol Control Department of the Lithuanian Government briefed participants on the EU approach and methods regarding drug control measures and investigation of organized cross-border crimes related to smuggling of drugs and their precursors.

CARICC experts delivered a presentation on recent trends in drug situation in Central Asia.

Workshop participants highly appreciated organization of the event and method of presentation. Participants were awarded certificates at the conclusion.
