Duting the visit to Doha (Qatar) of the CARICC delegation, headed by the Director Major General of Militia Miralizoda Rustam Aziz, on March 9, 2022, a meeting was held with the leadership of the General Directorate of Drugs Enforcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Qatar.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Director of Studies and International Affairs Department of the MOI Mr. Mohammed Abdulla Al-Khater, informed about the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Qatar in the fight against drug trafficking in his country. The Director highlighted the activities carried out within the framework of preventive programs and international cooperation in this area, and reported on the participation of Qatari Ministry of Internal Affairs employees in joint UNODC events held on the basis of CARICC in 2013-2019.

A film was demonstrated on the anti-drug activities of the General Directorate of Drugs Enforcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Qatar with retrospective footage of the facts of seizures of large consignments of drugs.

In turn, CARICC Director R. Miralizoda informed about the trends in the development of the drug situation in the CARICC region, which is being formed against the backdrop of an increase in seizures of Afghan drugs and the spread of new psychoactive substances.

Advisor/Head of the IAD of CARICC A. Erkaboev made a presentation on the tasks, functions and results achieved by the Center for organizing and conducting joint activities in the fight against transnational drug trafficking. He reported on the ongoing work in the information and analytical direction of CARICC activities.

Following the meeting, the parties noted the importance of increasing interaction in terms of information exchange, as well as to make wider use of the CARICC platform for joint anti-drug activities.
