Training for MIA of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC), with the support of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) Program of the US Embassy to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the OSCE Programme Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan, hosted a training course for officers of the Department on Combating Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan divided into two stages in Almaty from 5 to 16 August 2019.
During the first phase from 5 to 16 August 2019, CARICC instructors conducted third and final training on information collection and analysis methods using “i2 iBase” and “i2 Analyst Notebook” software. Practical exercises focused on telephone conversations and money transactions analysis.
The second stage of the training was held from 12 to 16 August 2019. It was delivered by the Main Department for Drug Control and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, who presented their experience in combating drug trafficking in the country. In addition, information on specifics of the Belarusian legislation in the fight against drug crimes was shared as well as practical training on the Internet using TOR-browser.
Trainees assessed the training as fully in line with functional responsibilities, constructive and useful in their daily work.
