Meeting with representative of the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL in the Republic of Korea

CARICC Director Makhmud Khamidov met with Mr. Jeong Hun-Jin, a representative of the National Police Agency of the Republic of Korea and National Central Bureau of INTERPOL in Seoul, on 4 August 2026.
During the meeting parties discussed current affairs related to development of cooperation between CARICC and competent authorities of the Republic of Korea in areas of combating illicit drug trafficking, transnational organized crime and related threats. Particular attention was paid to prospects for expanding practical cooperation in the field of information exchange, personnel training and participation of representatives from the Republic of Korea in events held under CARICC auspices.
Special focus was placed on the possibility of the Republic of Korea being granted observer status at CARICC. Both sides noted that development of partnership will contribute to strengthening international cooperation in countering drug crime, improving mechanisms for information exchange and coordination of efforts among law enforcement agencies in Central Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
The meeting reaffirmed mutual interest in further developing constructive cooperation and maintaining a regular working dialogue on subjects of mutual interest.
