Participation of CARICC staff in the training seminar in organizing profiling at the checkpoints to counter transnational crime
During the period from June 26 to June 27, 2017, Aktobe hosted the next training seminar in organizing profiling at the checkpoints to counter transnational crime, which was attended by CARICC officers as experts.
The training seminar was organized for border control officers of the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of a joint initiative of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Section (INL) of the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the OSCE Programmes Office in Astana.
The goal and objectives of the seminar were to form the theoretical knowledge and practical skills with the staff of the border control authorities to organize and conduct the profiling of suspicious individuals and goods crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan at international automobile, railway and aviation checkpoints in order to counter various types of threats to national security (illicit drug trafficking, religious extremism, and international terrorism).
The training course delivered by CARICC analysts received positive feedback from the participants of the event.
