Briefing on results of CARICC efforts at regional and global levels, and also its capacity in countering international drug trafficking was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 3 July 2023 in Astana.

The event, chaired by H.E. Mr. Kairat Umarov, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, brought together heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations, senior officials and officers of competent authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Mr. A. Yazlyyev, CARICC Director, and heads of specialized units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan delivered statements at the briefing.

CARICC gave a presentation on its performance, perspectives and plans. A separate topic was raised on financial sustainability of the Centre through enhanced donor assistance. It was emphasized that investments in CARICC are considered as investments in security of donor states and countries outside the Central Asian region.
