Opening ceremony of the Lieutenant General Adil Shayakhmetov Space Communications Laboratory

Grand opening ceremony of the Lieutenant General Adil Shayakhmetov Space Communications Laboratory took place on 23 January 2026 at Satbayev University in Almaty. The opening of the laboratory coincides with the 70th anniversary of Lieutenant General Adil Shayakhmetov, a university graduate whose professional career is an example of service to the Motherland, duty, and honor. Solemn meeting entitled “A Name That Unites Science, Education, and Security,” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Adil Shayakhmetov, was attended by heads of state agencies, law enforcement agencies, scientists, and representatives of foreign countries. CARICC employees also participated in this event and congratulated him on anniversary on behalf of the Centre.

С Between 2010 and 2016 A. Shayakhmetov shared his rich life and professional experience with young officers as head of the Academy of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan. And from 2016 to 2018 his knowledge proved to be more than in demand while working as Deputy Director of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for Combating Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors.
