The Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Katsunori SATO, visited CARICC
On the 27th of January 2017, CARICC leadership hosted a meeting with Mr. Katsunori SATO, Security Officer, Head of Consular Section, Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting participants discussed the opportunties of further development of cooperation among CARICC and Japan in the fight against drugs. Japan contribution to the Center’s development has been noted (in 2016, Japan was one of the two key donor organizations); the parties expressed their wish to witness in the future a strong relationship between CARICC and Japanese counter-narcotics agencies, including as part of the Dialogue “Central Asia plus Japan”. The parties also discussed the possibility of organizing meetings with representatives of the competent Japanese authorities engaged in the fight against drugs, and a meeting with A. Shayakhmetov, Deputy Director of CARICC, during his upcoming trip to Japan to attend the Asia-Pacific Conference on the operational fight against drugs (ADEC- 22).

Meeting of Acting Director of CARICC with Deputy Head of the UN Regional Centre
On the 23rd of January 2017, a meeting of Mr. A. Shayakhmetov, Acting Director of CARICC S, with Mr. F. Saprykin, Deputy Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia/Senior Counsellor for Political Affairs, was held in CARICC.
During the meeting both parties discussed the current drug situation in Central Asia and possible prospects of cooperation among the two organizations, including through the involvement of CARICC to participate in future joint projects of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia with the UNODC Regional Representative Office in Central Asia.

CARICC Team has Conveyed Condolences to Families and Relatives of those Killed in a Plane Crash in the Village Dacha-Suu near Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic
Management and staff of the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre for combating illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors (CARICC) mourn for the victims killed on January 16, 2017 in a plane crash in the village Dacha-Suu, near Bishkek.
CARICC in token of support and help to families and relatives of the victims has made a charity contribution to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic at the expense of salaries of the Center’s employees.

Information of the Electronic Version of CARICC Reports Based on Internet Resource Data
We inform that the electronic version of the CARICC weekly bulletin based on electronic mass media is now available at our new formal website. As you know, the Centre publishes a weekly report on narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seizure cases, prepared on the basis of electronic mass media for the recording and use in the work of the competent authorities of CARICC member-states. Users have the opportunity to browse through these CARICC weekly reports in this section, and make a copy to his/her personal computer.
We are working towards an active development and interactive replenishment of required information for our formal website and look forward to suggestions and comments of users!

Information of Electronic Reference Books at the CARICC Formal Website
Please be advised that the new website has “Reference Books” Section, which encompasses two types of electronic reference books, such as:
1. Area Codes and Phones
2. Drug concealment methods
The first reference book has an area and phone codes base across the world, where you can make a search by criteria.
The second reference book has a catalogue of drug and psychotropic substances concealment methods uncovered in Afghanistan, Central Asia, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Azerbaijan. It also has its own search system.

Concerning Launch of the CARICC New Formal Website
Dear visitors of our formal website,
CARICC staff wishes all of you a Happy New 2017 Year and wish you good health and success in your professional activity. We are pleased to announce the launch of a new version of the CARICC formal website. The Centre’s new website has an updated design, sections, and technical capabilities.
Upgrading of Internet resource allows to view publications, required materials and news articles on-line in Russian and English. The site has
navigation available for use, and the following new features:
